At the December workday, the new picnic area in front of the Trading Post was brought nearly to completion. A border and additional gravel was added to the area, and the rotten flower bed that was removed from the side of the building was replaced with a new, wider bed to accommodate plans for a native plant ecology learning area.

The area is still in need of several loads of gravel to finish filling in the border.

Further expansion of the project, pending funding and approval, include lighting, signage, and shade covers.

A huge thank you to James Odom, Chris Pelfrey, and ESC Spectrum, all of whom have donated time, funding, and/or materials to make this project possible.

What a day! A big thank you to Chris and James, two of our Board Members that have donated their time, to benefit the Trading Post! Of course a special thank you to the donors who made the specific wish to improve the Trading Post with their specified donation!!

After 3 coats of new floor paint at the Trading Post today and a lot of work it is a wrap. There will be a gloss seal coat installed on the floor and painting of the block walls and trim this week. These improvements are to prepare the Trading Post for the installation of new shelving in the coming weeks.

With the help of the NYLT Youth staff members of the Alumni Association were able to replace the fence that frames 'stage' at Whipple Circle on either side of the campfire ring.

The new fences includes a bench along that back to both provide stability and allow props to be staged during campfire programs.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Hodges Brothers Lumber for supplying the materials for this project!
